POSITION
Summary:
Supports the development of the Gresham-Barlow School District's high-quality communication, consistently branded documents, and marketing programs internally and externally to ensure that staff and families are kept informed of District and school news, events, activities, and District-wide programs.
Assists with day-to-day operations of social media, video production, collateral development, content creation, general office tasks, contact management, partnership and relationship development and event planning.
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
Education, Training, Experience, Licensure and Certification Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following:
Mass Communications, Journalism, Broadcasting Media, Marketing, Public Relations, or Related Field Two to four years' experience in communications field strongly preferred Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:
Valid Oregon Driver's License Reliable transportation and evidence of car insurance Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance Current First Aid/CPR Card SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE OF:
Proficient oral and written communication skills Knowledge of Macintosh operating systems Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premiere Pro Experience in graphic design for both digital and print media Experience in communications/public relations, marketing, graphic design, social media, videography and/or other related disciplines Experience implementing coordinated strategies to enhance communications with all stakeholders using a variety of media Ability to respond effectively to multiple conflicting priorities, continuously prioritizing and reprioritizing projects and situations and to respond to unexpected changes.

Collaborate with department administrator to strategize and implement communications and marketing plans for the District Recommends innovative and promotional avenues of communication for various types of media and suggests effective communication strategies to management Creates regular, relevant written and video content for district webpage and social media pages Ensures consistent branding and design across all publications Writes articles and informational reference pieces for staff and community Seeks out story topics and works with students and staff to record, shoot, and edit videos, podcasts and other multimedia projects Composes and designs documents (e.
g.
, correspondence, agendas, minutes, flyers, E-newsletters, print newsletters, brochures, fact sheets, etc.
) and prepares presentation materials (PowerPoint, Excel charts, etc.
) for the purpose of communicating information to internal and external audiences Coordinates special events Creates, updates, and maintains specified pages and information on district and school websites Executes emergency communications through a variety of mediums including media distribution, social media, auto dialer, email, and direct mail as required, including late night and/or early morning execution Assists with Communications Department projects as needed Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance Handles sensitive material in a confidential manner Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor as related to the position OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Attends meetings as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions Serves as District resource in area of expertise, may train other district staff Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities Requires periodic early morning, evening, and weekend hours to set-up for meetings and assist administrator PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The cost is $71.
50 and is the responsibility of the employee.
This employment is considered probationary pending return of the criminal records check from the FBI and Oregon State Police through the Oregon Department of Education.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
