Program Description
The SUN Community School at Centennial High School is a program designed to build community through engagement and sharing of resources. Centennial has a diverse population with over 33 languages spoken throughout the district. The goal of this class is to increase family support and success by offering English language opportunities.
Job Summary
We are currently looking for an ESL Teacher to teach adult learner from various cultures. This includes teaching English grammar, writing, reading, speaking, and listening skills. May also include introducing cultural aspects to ESL students, especially to those who are new to the English-speaking country.
Location: Centennial High School SUN Community School, 3505 SE 182nd Ave., Gresham, OR. 97030
Schedule: Monday and Wednesday 6:00-7:00 p.m. for 8 weeks, begins Monday January 26th-Wednesday, March, 18th, 3 hours per week (includes .5 hours prep time per class)
Salary: $15.00- $20.00 hour- depends on education and experience
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree
Experience providing academic to students in after school environments.
Desire and ability to work with adult learners
Ability to document work continually and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Possess strong organizational and time-management skills and ability to prioritize and complete multiple and varied tasks;
Sensitivity and ability to relate to people from diverse lifestyles, socioeconomic levels, and cultures;
Willingness to work as a team member and support the mission and goals of Impact NW.
Must be able to complete and pass an Oregon Background check including fingerprinting prior to start date.
_Teaching license or experience is preferred._
